Starting a new ministry position Part 2

Feb 26, 2010 by

If you read our note from a few days ago we mentioned that Nate was moving on to a new position in Houston. We will really miss him, but we began to ask the question: If you are going to start a ministry or even restart a ministry what things must you keep in mind. Today we will continue this idea with a few more thoughts.
____________

Once you have evaluated much of the present state of affairs in your ministry and the history of the church and your ministry in the church, you need to begin to articulate that all important mission that will be a mainstay of your ministry for years to come. Find a unique way to say it that really encompasses your heart and your language for fulfilling the Great Commission, and being to say it over and over again. They should hear it drip from your lips over and over like a broken record.

At first they might say to themselves that “this new guy says that over and over, what is with him?” but as you begin to develop your ministry and your plan unfolds it will become clear that it is their mission as well as your mission. If you have not developed a mission statement see our previous article on mission statements.
